I am...

I am
I am a smart and scientific young boy.
I wonder how old the moon is.
I hear Electronic waves.
I want something that can tell me everything.
I am a smart and scientific young boy.

I pretend I have a friend following me.
I feel the sun upon my face.
I touch the midnight sky.
I cry when I’m joyful.
I am a smart and scientific young boy.

I understand people.
I say I don’t think that’s right.
I dream with the most colours.
I try to do my best.
I hope some day people will be kind.
I am after all a smart and scientific boy.

Dear Samuel
I loved your poem. I am a litersacy consulant in New York. I work with primary school students in the Bronx. Schools are very different to Australia. The worst thing is the kids rarely go outside. Can you imagine being in the classroom from 8 till 3 with only a lunch break which is a cafeteria inside the building. Some kids have to come early to school and then after school and on saturday for extra work!Keep writing. Cheers Sandra

Hi Samuel,
I love your poem and I think you are a very scientific boy too. I hope you always write poetry because it is great and not many people do as they get older. I also wish people would be kind - it would make the world a much nicer place. Looks like lots of fun at the White's house too. Pete liked your poem too.

Hi Samuel
It's great to see that your dad has helped you get into blogging (he's a great guy isn't he!). I loved reading all your writing. Make sure you continue to write about all those things you experience - it will jog your memory and perhaps give you material to use later in life.

Dear Samuel,

Your poem really touched me. I love the idea that you are a scientific boy and a sensitive, intuitive boy, too, and that you mixed it all together in your poem. I think that wondering about how old the moon is goes together with knowing people.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your very colorful dreams!

I am writing to you from Israel where I teach English (tell your dad he has a great website and terrific ideas!). I am from America originally. My daughter is 7 years old, too, and I am going to show her your blog.

Shalom!

Beth

Dear Samuel,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful writing. I love that you are a scientific boy and also a sensitive and intuitive boy, too. Wondering how old the moon is goes together with having very colorful dreams! Keep dreaming and keep writing and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, keep wondering - the world is a wonder-filled place.

I am writing to you from Israel where I teach English (I am originally from America so English is my mother tongue). Tell your dad he has a great site - thanks!

My daughter is also 7 and I can't wait to show her your site.

Shalom,

Beth
